The People's Olympiad Poster

In 1936 the Olympics were held in Berlin, the capital of Nazi Germany. This created outrage in the sporting world. In protest, an alternative sporting event was organised in Barcelona.

Billed as the People's Olympiad, it celebrated the racial diversity in opposition to the racism of Nazi Germany. The poster was published in Spain advertising the event. Ultimately the event never took place as the Spanish Civil War broke out in the days before it was due to begin.

The poster is A3 sized.
