This iconic Sinn Fein election poster is from the famous Longford South by-election in May 1917. The candidate Joseph McGuinness was a veteran of the 1916 Rising having served with the Four Courts garrison.
At the time of the election he was incarcerated in Lewes Prison in England. He narrowly won the contest becoming the first Sinn Fein MP elected from a prison cell.
The poster is A3 sized and comes in a protective roll.
