Fianna Fáil 1932 Election Poster
€11.99
Believe it or not this is poster dates from one of the most bitter general elections in Irish history. In February 1932 Eamon de Valera's Fianna Fáil challenged Cumann na nGaedheal who had been in power since the foundation of the Free State.
Overshadowed by the memories of the Civil War, Fianna Fáil argued their opponents were elitist and out of touch. Cumann na nGaedheal in response claimed Fianna Fáil were socialists.
When the votes were counted de Valera's Fianna Fáil won 72 and began what would sixteen years in power.
The poster is A3 sized and comes in a protective roll.
