Irish Volunteers Poster

The Irish Volunteers, the forerunner to the IRA, were founded in 1913. This poster is based on an original for a meeting held in Dublin on Tuesday November 13th 1913. A Civil War in Ireland seemed inevitable over the issue of Home Rule. You can find out more in Episode 1 of the War of Independence.
